From her first guitar student in 2008 Sarah has enjoyed sharing her love of music with students ages 3 and up in various communities on the East Coast. Her goal is to help each student become a confident, passionate, and knowledgeable musician. She currently teaches beginner to intermediate guitar (rock, pop, folk/acoustic, and rhythm), beginner to intermediate piano (contemporary and classical), and voice. She also offers songwriting and music theory training for all levels as well as audition prep and performance coaching. Sarah specializes in teaching young beginners and women, and is passionate about women in music. Her extensive performance background and student-centered teaching style make for a unique and rewarding learning experience.
Sarah taught herself how to play guitar and has been playing for nearly two decades, performing mostly rock, blues, and pop. She first studied piano in high school, continuing to take lessons on and off in college, focusing mostly on pop and classical music. She joined her first chorus at age 10 and has been singing ever since, with an emphasis on classical, opera, rock, pop, blues, and jazz.
When not teaching, Sarah can often be found performing or out hiking near her home in Ripton, VT.
